We took our Lavender Hot Chocolate Mix and turned it into the most decadent little truffles—rich, creamy, and dusted in cocoa with just a hint of lavender. Normally, we share our kitchen creations with neighbors for taste testing, but this time…the girls refused to part with them. Can’t say I blame them, though!
Perfect for Valentine’s treats, dessert boards, or sneaking straight from the fridge when no one’s looking (guilty).
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup heavy cream
8 oz dark chocolate (60-70% cocoa), finely chopped
2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
2 tbsp Treasured Roots Lavender Hot Chocolate mix
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Cocoa powder for rolling
INSTRUCTIONS
In a small saucepan, warm the heavy cream over low heat until it starts to steam (do not boil). Whisk in the Lavender Hot Chocolate Mix until dissolved.
Place the finely chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl. Pour the warm lavender-infused cream over the chocolate.
Let sit for 2-3 minutes, then stir until smooth and fully combined.
Stir in the softened butter, vanilla extract, and salt until silky smooth.
Cover and refrigerate for 1-2 hours, or until firm enough to scoop.
Scoop portions of the chocolate mixture and roll into small balls with your hands - we didn’t fuss with the shape, we wanted them to look like real truffles! Place them on a parchment-lined tray and chill for 30 minutes.
Roll each truffle in cocoa powder for a rich, cocoa-dusted finish.
Let the truffles sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
